FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How can I stay active at home?

The YMCA of Greater San Antonio is offering FREE online fitness classes for members of all ages and fitness levels, including seniors and children! These online classes will be available through Les Mills OnDemand and YMCA 360.

These options will also be posted on our website at ymcasatx.org and on social media.

How do I put my membership on a complimentary hold while the Y is temporarily closed?

If you want to join us in service to others, we ask that you please keep your membership active. If you choose to elect a complimentary membership hold, please contact our Solution Center at registrations@ymcasatx.org. Corporate members may email ywellnessworks@ymcasatx.org with membership questions.

Why don't you just put every membership on hold?

We are grateful to have heard from many members who want to continue supporting the Y during this time! We understand this option is not for everyone and respect individual choice. We hope the hold process is easy and provides a reasonable alternative during this difficult time.

How long will the hold take?

We will process these transactions as quickly as possible, but given the volume and this being a manual process based on our systems, we expect it may take up to a week. Thank you so much for your patience!

Who do I contact about my membership?

With branches temporarily closed, please contact the Solution Center at registrations@ymcasatx.org with your inquiry. Direct corporate membership inquiries to ywellnessworks@ymcasatx.org.

How will I know when the branches re-open?

Please visit ymcasatx.org for continued updates. In addition to our website, we will share updates via our social channels and member emails as information becomes available.

What happens with the hold on my membership when the branches re-open?

No action is required by you as we will automatically reactivate your membership so you can start enjoying your Y again immediately. A prorated fee will apply from the day your membership is reactivated.

What if I want to cancel my membership?

We recognize this is a difficult time. If possible, we ask you to consider the work we do as a nonprofit organization and our overall service to our community before ending your relationship with us. Your membership dues are the foundation of our work and will allow us to continue to serve so many in this challenging time.

Keeping your membership active will allow us to continue to support our community in the way we have for more than a century.

Please contact the Solution Center at registrations@ymcasatx.org should you ultimately decide to cancel your membership.

Are membership fees being reduced?

These are unusual circumstances, and we are working feverishly to support our members and community as best we can. A complimentary hold is available to all members by request to our Solution Center at registrations@ymcasatx.org.

I've already paid for spring break, swim lessons, youth sports leagues, or Family Value Add-On programs. Can I get a credit?

That's a great question. We will credit you for any unused portion of your paid programming to be applied to future programs. Or, if you choose, you may continue to support our mission by donating your program payment as a tax-deductible donation to the Y.

What about registration for Summer Camps?

We are continuing to enroll for our 2020 Summer Camps as we anticipate opening as scheduled. For updates, you can go to ymcasatx.org/summer.  If you have further questions, please email registrations@ymcasatx.org.

Are your Early Learning Centers open?

Yes. Currently, all three YMCA Early Learning Centers are operating with regular business hours.

Is the YMCA still offering Spring Sports?

Currently, the start of our Spring Sports has been temporarily delayed.  We will closely monitor school district closures and state/local restrictions. Families will be updated on April 1 regarding the next steps.
