Swimming at the Y helps people thrive—in and out of the water. Swim lessons provide the opportunity to set goals and achieve success, learn water safety and enjoy swimming as a form of exercise. Through swimming lessons, swim teams, lap swimming and more, the YMCA of Greater San Antonio provides a safe environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities.
Adult Swim Lessons
The YMCA Swim Lesson Curriculum is a core group of aquatic skills every person needs to be safe around water. As the foundation of our program, these skills allow students to learn correct swim stroke techniques. Students begin with and build upon skills they are ready to learn, helping them to celebrate their successes, build self-confidence, and enjoy learning to swim and water safety.
ONE TEAM, ONE FAMILY
Becoming a member of a YMCA Swim Team means fun, fitness and teamwork. YMCA swim teams are run by trained coaches and are designed to improve a young person’s swimming skills, endurance, and racing techniques, in a fun, non-competitive environment. YMCA swim teams promote healthy lifestyles while embracing the four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

Youth Swim Lessons
Due to Covid-19 swim lessons will resume in the fall.
Number 1 in Water Safety
When it comes to swimming and water safety, no one is trusted more than the YMCA, America's Swim Instructor. In fact, group swim instruction was developed by the YMCA in 1906.
