› Louis Lopez
Louis Lopez currently serves as the President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater San Antonio, bringing over 25 years of dedicated experience to the YMCA. Louis holds the distinction of being the first CEO of color in the organization’s 148-year history. His leadership is characterized by a deep commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and community empowerment. Known for his charismatic and visionary approach, Louis leads with a servant's heart, placing people at the forefront of his mission to create positive and lasting change.
As a leader, Louis is highly focused on building strategic partnerships and fostering collaborations that enhance access to vital community programs and services. His leadership has significantly contributed to making YMCA programs more accessible, positively impacting individuals and families throughout the Greater San Antonio area. Louis is a trailblazer in championing diversity and equity within the YMCA, consistently identifying and promoting growth opportunities for leaders of color. His commitment to nurturing diverse talent has left a lasting impact on the YMCA leadership landscape.
A champion of healthy living, Louis led the creation and implementation of the "Y Living Program" at the YMCA of San Antonio, which has become a cornerstone of the organization’s health initiatives. His collaborative efforts with the UT Health Science Center resulted in co-authored abstracts on healthy living, further solidifying his influence on public health. He has also presented for the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on Open Streets, a movement he helped bring to San Antonio through the popular Síclovía initiative in partnership with the City of San Antonio and the Metropolitan Health District.
Louis's contributions to community health have earned him numerous accolades. The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District honored him with the "CPPW (Communities Putting Prevention to Work) Local Hero" award for his efforts in promoting physical activity and chronic illness prevention. The West San Antonio Chamber of Commerce also recognized him as the "Western Sector Person of the Year" for his health-focused initiatives in San Antonio's Westside communities.
Louis Lopez is a proud San Antonio native and a first-generation college graduate. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Wayland Baptist University. Outside his professional commitments, Louis enjoys an active lifestyle, including playing basketball, traveling with his family, and spending time near the water. He and his wife, Sandra, have three children—Amber, Autumn, and Lou—and three grandchildren, whom they visit as often as possible.

› Ross Magsig
Ross Magsig is a strategic business leader with over 35 years of experience in top finance manager positions with nonprofit organizations.He has worked with the YMCA of Greater San Antonio since 2004 and previously was the CFO for the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for 4 years.Before his YMCA work, Ross was the Treasurer and Chief Accountant for 11 years at Church of God Ministries in Anderson, Indiana.
Ross oversees all financial aspects of the Y’s $36 million operation, including responsibilities for budget planning and forecasting, securing tax-exempt financing, coordinating annual external audits, preparing annual 990 tax returns, investment management, treasury management, financial analysis, project feasibility, financial reporting, and development and supervision of the finance and IT teams.
In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant, Ross holds a B.A. in Accounting from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana.
› Doug Desbien
Doug Desbien has over 24 years of experience leading programs and operations for the YMCA. Doug has spent the last 15 years with the YMCA of Greater San Antonio, where he has advanced in several executive-level positions, including his current promotion as SVP/Chief Operating Officer. He started his Y career with the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City as Youth Sports Director. Mr. Desbien then spent seven years with the YMCA of the Pikes Peak region in Colorado Springs, leading multiple departments, including youth sports, health & wellness, member services, and facility operations.
Doug currently serves on the Y's Senior Leadership team. He is accountable for executing all operational strategies of the YMCA of Greater San Antonio, which encompasses over 63,000 members annually across 11 wellness facilities, one sports performance center, two early learning centers, Y healthy living center, and Roberts Ranch, a nature preserve, and environmental education site located in Comfort, Texas.
His leadership strengths include strategic thinking, relationship building, and problem-solving by identifying and implementing operational efficiencies, maintaining safe, clean, and welcoming facilities, delivering exceptional member experiences, influencing others, and developing new leaders. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. Doug is a servant leader and finds purpose in fulfilling the mission of the Y.
› Stacy Øksenberg
In 2023, Stacy was promoted to SVP/Chief HR & Strategy Officer with the YMCA of Greater San Antonio.
Stacy joined the Y in 2009 as SVP/Chief Human Resources Officer. She has worked collaboratively to create meaningful staff development opportunities and an inclusive staff culture that is truly for all.
Stacy is a C-Level Executive, SPHR-certified and SHRM-SCP-certified human resources professional with over 30 years of HR expertise. Her strengths include strategic planning, diversity and inclusion, talent acquisition, recruiting/on-boarding, training and leadership development, Human Capital Management, legal compliance, employee relations, policy development and implementation, benefits/staff wellness programs, risk management/safety, and executive consulting.
The Y Leadership Academy, Healthy Me, and the DIG Council (Diversity, Inclusion, and Global Engagement) have all become part of the vernacular at the YMCA of Greater San Antonio thanks to Stacy's ongoing commitment to improving the service for the 1,700+ cause-driven Y staff members.
Before joining the YMCA of Greater San Antonio, Stacy held a number of similar positions in the international restaurant and hospitality industry with Brinker International (Chili's corp), Fitzgerald’s Casino and Hotel, Schlitterbahn Waterparks, and Belo Broadcasting Corp.

› Veronica Wong-Rizo
Veronica is an experienced leader in the field of health and wellness. With over 18 years of experience, she has developed strong skills in operational management and has a proven track record of success. Veronica started her journey with the YMCA of Greater San Antonio as the Director of Medically Based Programs. In this role, she was responsible for overseeing the operations of YMCA Diabetes Prevention and YMCA holistic wellness programs throughout the city.
Throughout her tenure at the YMCA, Veronica has taken on new roles and responsibilities. She transitioned into the position of VP of Marketing and Engagement and Senior Vice President of Operations, where she was focused on driving membership growth, marketing strategies, and ensuring member engagement.
Currently, Veronica holds the position of Chief Experience Officer. In this role, she is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and practices that enhance the acquisition, experience, and retention of members and program participants. Her goal is to ensure that everyone who interacts with the YMCA has a positive and fulfilling experience.
Veronica's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Performance and Sports and a minor in Communications from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Her passion for the mission is evident through her energetic and compassionate approach to her work. Veronica is driven to make a difference in the lives of individuals and communities through her leadership and dedication.
› Mario A. Vazquez
Mario A. Vazquez is the SVP / Chief Philanthropy Officer at the YMCA of Greater San Antonio since 2023. With a career spanning both the nonprofit and private sectors, Vazquez has held significant leadership roles, including Senior Development Director at the Hemisfair Conservancy, President & CEO of KLRN-TV, and Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. His expertise covers executive management, major fundraising, strategic planning, government affairs, and international business, particularly in the Mexico energy sector. He is deeply involved in civic engagement throughout Central and South Texas and has served on numerous boards, including the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and the San Antonio Symphony.
