Your monthly membership draft is crucial in enabling us to pivot our Y facilities to meet a critical need in our San Antonio communities. We are providing emergency relief care for children of essential personnel and first responders so that they can continue their focus on public health.
Just like every crisis before, we come together in the name of our humanity. And just like it’s been for the last 144 years, the Y is here for good and to help you remain healthy in spirit, mind, and body. Authorities are requiring health and fitness clubs and other similar recreational venues to cease operations until further notice. This includes our Y branches. As such, we suspended operations at our branches effective Thursday, March 19, 2020. Thank you for your patience as we communicate the effects of this change. It’s been a complicated moment for everyone, and we appreciate your support as we navigate this crisis. Right now, we’re asking you to stick with us if you can.
Help Us by Keeping an Active Membership
We bring people together and create personal connections while also playing a constructive role in supporting local health officials and government leaders as they work to contain the virus.
The Y was founded as a volunteer organization and are humbled and appreciative of those asking how they can help us respond to community needs. With our branches closed, we are now shifting our work to support critical, local needs.
Members who continue to pay their monthly membership dues are our Sustaining Members – because they are helping us be resilient during this chaotic time.
Members, please join us in supporting one of the most critical community needs of providing childcare for healthcare professionals, first-responders, public utility employees and other personnel.
Membership fees are the foundation of the YMCA’s work and allow us to provide services to those that need us the most. While our facilities are closed, we would like you to consider continuing with your membership payments, as it will be used to continue to support our mission. Any membership fees drafted during this closure will be recognized as tax-deductible gifts to the YMCA.
