Students begin with and build upon skills they are ready to learn, helping them to celebrate their successes, build self-confidence, and enjoy learning to swim and water safety.
Ages: 13 +
Teens and adults can begin with water safety and continue on to learn and refine skills in the four competitive swimming strokes.

The values and skills learned early in life are vital building blocks for a successful adulthood, and we believe all kids deserve a strong start and a safe place to grow. Parents trust the Y’s child care programs to support and nurture their children from infancy through the teen years and help them become strong, capable, and engaged young people.
In light of the most recent CDC update, masks and social distancing are now optional for fully vaccinated members, guests, and staff in YMCA Facilities. The YMCA will not require proof of vaccination. Out of respect to other members and staff around you, please continue to wear a mask if not fully vaccinated. Individuals can continue to wear a mask if they choose to as well.
Youth Sports allow young people to develop skills and build healthy lifestyles through teamwork, fun and fair play. Our coaches are caring volunteers that help guide our children through learning the essentials of physical fitness, healthy development, and participation. There are no tryouts in our non-competitive sports programs. Both team and individual sports are available.
You can reach our youth sports department for all YMCA's in Greater San Antonio by emailing us at sportsinfo@ymcasatx.org or calling our office at 210-497-7955
The YMCA Sports team communicates with families and coaches each season through our PlayerpSpace sports management platform. If you're new to the YMCA or a returning family be sure to follow this link to sign in or create your account in the upper right-hand corner.
Practices are guaranteed to occur at or near your home location, but games are played at YMCAs throughout the Greater San Antonio association based on registration numbers. YMCA leagues and divisions may be combined with those from other Ys to ensure participation for all.
Interested in coaching your child or a team? Reach out to us at coachsupport@ymcasatx.org and we will get you everything you need to make an impact on kids in our community through sport. Every season there are more kids looking to play sports than parent volunteers signed up to coach. We can always use your help!
Kids will participate in 4-week clinics tailored to specific age groups and sports.
Our younger groups (ages 3-6) are more focused on skill-building and fun. This is a great way to get your kids introduced to a sport or continue their skill-building in order to improve their team experience for the next season.
Our older group clinics (ages 7 -14) will participate in advanced drills and mini-games designed to improve their skills and improve their abilities in competition.

The YMCA Swim Lesson Curriculum is a core group of aquatic skills every person needs to be safe around water. As the foundation of our program, these skills allow students to learn correct swim stroke techniques.
