Roberts Ranch Volunteer Opportunities

Outdoor Classroom Volunteer
Roberts Ranch offers opportunities for adults to support outdoor educational activities. At the Y, we recognize that successful youth development requires a holistic approach focused on achieving certain social-emotional, cognitive, and physical milestones. Through the educational programs at Roberts Ranch, we hope to expose adults and youth to nature which has been proven to be essential to healthy physical and emotional development.

Friends of Roberts Ranch
The Mission: To provide diverse educational programs to bring the Texas Ranch experience to those who might otherwise never experience the great outdoors.
The Vision: To become "the Nature Preserve" of the Texas Hill Country.
The Usage: Increase the number of children and families served at YMCA’s Roberts Ranch through new programming, such as conservation and stewardship workshops, hiking, tours, and environmental education field trips.
YMCA’s Roberts Ranch is quickly becoming “The Nature Preserve” of the Texas Hill County. We’re currently building out diverse program offerings that will serve Y members and the broader community to bring the Texas Ranch experience to those who might otherwise never experience the great outdoors. The pristine habitat, native plants, and wildlife make the ranch the perfect laboratory for learning about and exploring nature.
For years, the property has served hundreds of children through an outdoor education program sponsored by Texas Parks and Wildlife. Now, the YMCA is hoping to greatly increase the number of children and families served at the ranch through new programming intended to fulfill Mr. Roberts’ vision. Potential programs offered at the ranch include conservation and stewardship workshops, hiking, tours, and environmental education field trips for youth.
